An irreplaceable love...
Mel misses her dad, John, so much. He passed away last year, 13 months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
One month before he passed away, John was able to walk his eldest daughter, Yvette, down the aisle on her wedding day.
“The most heartbreaking thing,” says Mel, “was dressing Dad to go to Yvette’s wedding and just seeing what the cancer had done to him.”
Every day, she thinks about what life would be like if he was still here.
Mel is devastated to face the rest of her life without her dad. She desperately misses his funny stories, the handyman way he could fix cars, and going to footy matches with him.
Years and untold precious moments are taken from people's lives. This Christmas will you please make a donation to cancer research?
A low chance of survival.
A promising chance for progress.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth biggest cancer killer of Australians—few of those facing it can expect to live more than one year after diagnosis, as often the cancer develops a resistance to treatment.
Dr Marina Pajic is determined to find out why. She and her team are using advanced genetic research to solve this resistance so that treatment becomes more effective.
If she is successful, her research could lead to treatment that could bring more time to pancreatic cancer patients – or even a cure.
Will you support this promising research today?
Cancer research is saving lives. But breakthroughs can’t happen unless caring people like you help fund the next breakthrough.
