Aiko Nakagawa

After a brave battle against breast cancer, our friend Aiko Nakagawa passed away peacefully in the early hours of 17th August 2019, surrounded by her loving family in Nagoya Japan.
Her journey started in early 2015 when she was training hard in the Japan women’s team towards Touch football World Cup that took place in May of the same year. She made it through the tournament without telling anyone about her condition, and her team achieved the highest place ever in Japan’s touch history.
Even after her cancer came back in 2017, she still had a passion for playing again and returning for the next World Cup.
She was kind, honest, fair-minded and always cherished her friends the most.
“Have regular medical checkups” and “Live for the moment”, they were her last messages to us.
She was out to live every single day with all the energy and grit that she could. That is what her life could teach all of us, and that is how we remember her.
She came to Australia for touch training for a few times before, and she always loved here. So her family wish us to share this news with anyone who had known her back then.
I want to invite you to donate in memory of Aiko, so your gift can go towards beating cancer and helping those still affected by it today.
Thank you.
